"Valuation Methodologies for Early- and Late-Stage Medical Technology Companies"

Valuation becomes critical for life sciences companies at a number of junctures - raising capital, buying or selling assets, mergers and acquisitions, investing in joint ventures and spin-offs, determining tax liabilities and establishing transfer pricing strategies, among others. This panel will discuss the methods and tools used to value life sciences companies in today's market. Among other topics, the speakers will address:

  • How valuation issues can become important to a life sciences company through its corporate lifecycle;

  • Current market trends with respect to public and private financing and mergers and acquisitions in the life sciences industry;

  • Factors that influence valuation of pre-revenue life sciences companies, such as market sizing, development pipeline and phase of development;

  • and the impact of collaborative agreements on valuation and alternative valuation techniques based on a company's stage of development.

Panelists:

  • Gary Brewster

Industry Panel Discussion

The path to success for medical device companies is rarely straight and there are as many different roads to success as there are common ones.  In this panel, a distinguished group of device executives will talk about the opportunities that stood before them, the challenges they faced and obstacles they overcame in building highly successful companies.

Specifically, some of the topics to be discussed include:

  • Financing strategies:  what's new, what's not

  • Adoption issues:  making sure physicians want and need your product

  • Operational issues:  creating companies that work, and work well

  • Exit strategies:  what's the best choice for your company
