U.S. Markets for Interventional Peripheral Vascular Disease Management Products and Technologies
Report #A246 -
September 2009
240 Pages - 65 Exhibits - 17 Company Profiles

Peripheral vascular disease (PVD) refers to those conditions that affect the vessels carrying blood to and from the extremities as well as the tissues and organs of the abdominal and pelvic cavities. The most commonly diagnosed form of PVD is plaque-related peripheral artery disease; other types of PVD include aneurysm, chronic venous insufficiency, deep-vein thrombosis, and pulmonary embolism.

In 2008, approximately 3.0 million interventional procedures for the diagnosis and treatment of PVD were performed in the United States (U.S.), generating an estimated $1.18 billion in corresponding product sales. The number of diagnostic and therapeutic interventions for PVD management is expected to increase at a compound annual rate of 3.1% during the forecast period covered by this report, reaching nearly 3.5 million in the year 2013. Sales of products to perform these interventional procedures are projected to increase at a compound annual rate of 9.2% during the forecast period covered by this report, reaching an estimated $1.83 billion in the year 2013.

This dynamic, new report from Medtech Insight includes analyses of products, current and emerging markets, competitors, and opportunities for suppliers of interventional devices for the diagnosis and treatment of PVD in the U.S.

Covered topics in this report include angiography devices; catheter-directed thrombolysis products; chronic total occlusion crossing systems; drug-eluting balloon systems; endovascular cryotherapy products; endovascular embolization products; intravascular ultrasound systems; mechanical atherectomy systems; mechanical and pharmacomechanical thrombectomy products; noninvasive peripheral vascular disease treatments; peripheral transluminal angioplasty devices; surgical/endoscopic peripheral vascular disease treatments; and vena cava filters.
