EHP
provides national statistics and key hospital and physician
data for each country in Europe, including population
statistics, gross domestic product, health care spending,
number of hospitals, average length of stay, total number of hospital
beds, emergency rooms, operating rooms, recovery beds, ICU
beds, ambulances, dialysis centers, nursing homes and total
number of physicians by specialty.
Data
from several countries are now available and can be purchased
individually or in the following groups: . Group 1 countries
include Spain, Germany, France, Italy,and
the United Kingdom.Group
2 countries include Denmark,
Norway, Finland, Austria, Switzerland, Holland,
Sweden, Belgium, and Luxembourg. , Group
3 countries includeEastern Europe
( Russia, Hungary, Poland, and the Czech Republic). Emerging
Markets, Middle East and Africa include
Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Saudi Arabia,and
the Republic of South Africa.
For
each country, EHP data are obtained from national databases,
TforG analysts, interviews
with public, private and university hospital administrators,
professional organizations and key opinion leaders. The
2007 EHP release includes the latest available data from
each country, which represents data reported between 2004
