This database provides the most recent procedure volumes for inpatient and outpatient surgeries performed in public, private and university hospitals in France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom and Spain.  Together, these countries represent an estimated 80% of the total European market.  Procedures are listed by specialty, procedural description and procedure codes (using the ICD-9 system).  The sources and methods used to calculate procedure volumes are also listed by procedure by country. For the 2007 version, the ESP database has been expanded to include trends and forecasts and is now called ESP Database Plus^TF: 2004 to 2009.
