“Investment In Innovation (In3):  A Preview of 
Early-Stage Medical Technology Companies”

This two-day event highlighted emerging technologies being developed by 54 small, mostly privately-held medical technology companies seeking partnering and/or investment.  The meeting drew an attendance of over 250 senior executives from the investment community and major medical technology, biopharmaceutical, biotech, and other companies.

The forum provided focused overviews by a senior executive from each company, followed by the opportunity to meet one-on-one in private breakout rooms.

BioLuminate, Inc. -- disposable Smart Needle device for early breast cancer detection

Biowave Corporation -- non-invasive electronic pain control

BTG International, Ltd. -- surgical sealant technology for ophthalmic surgery

CardialCare, Inc. -- ventricular assist system and minimal invasive intra-ventricular temporary blood pump

CardioFocus, Inc. -- photonics-based cardiovascular devices

Cardio-optics, Inc. -- visualization technology to enable real-time imaging of tissues normally obscured by blood

Computerized Thermal Imaging, Inc. -- non-invasive, painless breast cancer detection

CryoVascular Systems, Inc. -- catheter system to prevent post- angioplasty/stent placement coronary artery restenosis

Deltex Medical Group, plc -- non-invasive, bedside monitors NeuroQ to assess blood circulation in the brain and CardioQ to assess continuous cardiac function

Electrical Geodesics, Inc. -- dense-array EEG system for functional brain imaging

eScreen, Inc. -- web enabled in-vitro diagnostic drug screening device and reporting system

Fluidsense Corporation -- infusion pump for IV therapy

Focus Surgery, Inc. -- minimally invasive ultrasound device for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia

ImPres Medical, Inc. –- platform technology for the management of gynecologic disorders, including abnormal uterine bleeding

Inlet Medical, Inc. –- laparoscopic surgical instruments and components focused on women’s health

Integrated Medical Systems, Inc. -- LSTAT, portable intensive care unit integrating the medical, data and utilities of a hospital ICU in a 5 inch thick patient-care platform

Intranasal Technology, Inc. –- alternative drug delivery platform

Lucid, Inc. –- cellular imaging technology delivered via Internet for real-time diagnostic information
